We hold nothing.

The short version

Dash is made by Oasis Software, and we hold nothing about you. What you write in Dash — your stones, the people you keep, your thoughts, your growth, your birth year — stays on your device and never reaches us. There is no account, no sync, no analytics, no crash reporting, no update check and no in-app messaging.

The one thing Dash sends over the internet is a request for the text of a Bible verse you are saving. It carries the verse, not you.

What you write

Everything you enter is stored on your device, in an encrypted database, and nowhere else. We never receive it and cannot see it. Deleting an entry removes it from your device; deleting the app removes all of it.

Looking up a verse

When you save a verse, Dash asks our server for its text. The request carries the translation and the passage — for example, ESV and Psalm 46:1 — and, like every request on the internet, the network address it comes from. Our server asks the translation's publisher for the text and passes it back. We keep nothing about who asked, and the publisher receives the passage, not your address.

Writing to us

If you email us, or use the contact page on this website, we have what you sent and use it only to answer you. Ask, and we'll delete it within 30 days.

Who else is involved

• Amazon Web Services — hosting the server that looks up verses
• Crossway and YouVersion — the Bible text our server asks for
• Apple — distributing the app
• Google — distributing the app

Each has its own privacy practices, and each is worth reading if you'd like to.

Who is responsible for this

Dash is made and run by Oasis Software in the United States. Write to hello@oasissoftware.dev about any of this.

Dash sends no marketing, profiles nobody, and makes no automated decisions about you.

Your rights

Because Dash sends us nothing, we have nothing of yours to show you, correct or delete. What you write is on your device, under your control, and deleting it there deletes it everywhere. If you have emailed us or used the contact page, you can ask what we have from that, and have it corrected or deleted.

Children

Dash isn't directed at children under 13. It collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that meaningfully affects what we collect or who sees it will be said plainly rather than buried.
